    Informative weekend of drama training to enhance and enrich your performance skills.
    -       Mechanics of acting: Continuity, Blocking, Lighting & Camera.
    -       Various acting techniques will be explored.
    -       Character Analysis.
    -       How to deal with unclear direction.
    -       Things to avoid as an actor.
    -       Preparing for an audition.
    -       Performances will be taped: content will be provided for demo reel.

    Who should attend: Anyone who feels they need to practice and improve their acting skills. Do not have to be affiliated with Atlantic Talent Agency to attend.

    The course will coordinated by Lisa Heyden and hosted by the Atlantic Talent Agency:
    Lisa Heyden is a local independent filmmaker. She is currently directing the documentary Scars of Shame as well as teaching within the filmmaking department at the Centre for Arts and Technology.
    Lisa holds a Fine Art Degree in film along with a Digital Media Diploma. She has been an Actra member over the past 10 years and worked on film sets in Germany and Canada. Lisa is looking forward to
    putting together this acting for camera class.

    GETTING STARTED IN FILM & TV 101

    This is a one day (Saurday or Sunday) class for all age groups that teaches the necessary information for actors to survive in this very high-energy and competitive industry. This class will help to prepare you for working of the industry. Some of the topics covered are:
  • Casting Agents & Talent Agents
  • How the casting process works in Film/TV and Commercials
  • Your acting resume
  • Headshots without spending a fortune
  • Auditioning, what to do and what not to do
  • Break down a script, reading & timing
  • Develop a character in a script
  • How to read for a radio commercial
  • Film set etiquette
  • ACTRA verses Non Union
  • Acting contracts, what you should & should not sign
  • Pay scales and residuals, to name a few as well as definitions of terms used in the business and much more.
  • This seminar is NOT mandatory to be represented by Atlantic Talent & Model Agency, however, it is highly recommended as it better prepares you to know what to expect and be successful. This one day Sunday seminar is only offered a few times a year.
